The morning shoot at Sunset Way

It was very undecisive... we didnt know where to shoot... but finally after a while night of sms, my buddy decided to go back to Sunset way. It was his second but my first. what's more i think its nearer... i actually suggested changi airport to shoot planes haha... luckily we didnt go... that was really far.

Nways nice to sit on his bike again. i feel like getting a bike license so i can scoot around too... and you can squeeze pass cars n such. only thing we all fear is being hit by cars or bigger vehicles... but other than that i tink scooting around in a bike is kinda fun and costs less in terms of fuel and such...

Nways it was a lovely place i must say, hot day... thank God it didnt rain...
Will post some pics for all to see...
Will go back there one day... for the whole stretch...
Lots of things to see and discover...

Enjoy...

ps: will post soon

The recent Night shoot.

As time allows, i would every now and then go out for a short shooting with a friend, He like me also has a Rebel XT and we almost carry the same equip. 50mm and kit lens. He has a 135 manual and i have a 70-300... so we share.

I must say i'm very happy to have him as my shooting buddy because it all started with him being my SGT in army haha. Na, he was not those who like to punish, he was the calm and relaxing kind with lots of smiling. Then when i got my cam, i found out he had the same cam as i do now... so happy. We have gone to quite a number of shootings, The Kranji War memorial, sunrise at esplanade, evening at Hortpark and the night shoot at the padang. All of which have become to enjoyable and fun. Lots of memories and pictures to compare.

Sadly, he and i have different working schedules... so only when time permits and weather is fine, then we can meet. so i really treasure those moments, even if its just a few hours. He has naturally become my part time model too... haha (who says models have to be female only?) and i become his. even though im not tt model like... He has this great look and can really pose.
I always look forward to shooting with him coz we do enjoy this time improving and sharing comments and pictures too. He has wonderful ideas and we try them.. (the light pen and the spiderman in the tunnel was his idea) haha... he also has great timing. so he knows when the shutter closes and poses in time... that i need to learn from him...
nways ill show some pics just so ya know..
enjoy...
Just opposite the Court House.

One of the pillars and the moon.

My friend trying to get a moon shot with the 70-300 as the world passes by.

That's all for now :P

The Course... and RT

Whoopie!~~

Courses are fun (sleeping and relaxation)

And at the end of it, you make new friends and actually you also learn something new.

3 days ago, i went for a hazmat course. Sounds scary but it was well. Since i had previous experiences, it was just like memories...

I really miss those days ya know, a group of friends who stayed together, helped each other. Such a bond... i felt sad that it was over.

Nways, made new friends there, nurses and doctors... Learnt new stuff... what to do when it happens and how to protect yourself...

As they say, "If you can't save yourself, You cant save others.." i so agree with this statement.
but i was pretty sad it all had to come to an end. Sadly, all good things always come to an end. Sadly, just when we were starting to enjoy ourselves, we had to go back to our mundane lives...

Not been shooting much lately due to work and other commitments which im rather bummed bout. There is still so much more to shoot out there... I'm just hoping i find the places and all.. Then can plan shoots and such. Where are my models? (friends usually and of coz my lovely gf).

Today, was RT day... which mean i had to rush from work to camp for my RT. i feel that the 6pm slot is so much better than the 4pm slot. This is one complaint. i work morning shifts and usually i end at bout 4pm. RT starts at 4pm and i can only be half an hour late... which means i have to rush from novena to camp which is in yishun in half an hour. Very impossible! how can? And so i skipped one session because it was at 4pm...

I spoke to one of the PTI (physical training instructors) and he told me to go to the counter to arrange some special arrangement because i told him that i could not make it at 4pm.. when i reached the counter, the dude there said cant be changed... i was very upset because one says can, another says cant. Where is the flexibility... If this goes on, i would definitely have to skip it and in the end, ill get charged for no show... ill write an email to the management and hope some changes can occur to fit my working schedule... if not ill just not go... what is the point...?

Enough of complaints, i did make a few new friends. though i don't know their names, they are still very friendly and down to earth people. Lots of laughing and all during the training time... and the PTI was nice to us... So no complaints here except the schedule... which i hope can be changed... looking forward to the next... hoping i won't get charged...

happy to be out...

Thanks to some people, i am out of the work place for 3 days.

I think i need time off too... Getting very upset with myself coz i cant perform well...

Starting to dislike shift work too because it takes away my photography time and i don't get to sleep much at all... as little as 3 hours... dead man in the train after that im wide awake at night... like an owl...

Sleeping time is also all messed up... which makes me freaking upset and short tempered...

So anyways, im happy to be out of the working place.

Course is fun and relaxing.... can wake up slightly later and not rush like a mad man...

No need to answer to 2 very unreasonable people... who make our lives so painful to work.

cant say who but those who work in my work place will surely know who im talking about.

Now im thinking if i should move out of the shift work and try office hours... to be honest, sometimes its great, coz i end work at like 230 (supposedly) but then i end like 4...

So time after that is used for shooting or with my loved ones.

Ill keep praying for job opportunities...

hai....

kungfu panda? po.../ the new 3g iphone, To get or not?

Just caught KungFu Panda at cathay just now. Hmmm not bad... Funny but predictable know what i mean?

i mean sometimes the ads for movies just show almost all the fun and nice to see parts that when you watch the movie itself, you kinda seen it all... so predictable if you know what i'm driving at.

So yeah, make the fat guy a hero and the enemy some fierce looking evil, powerful almighty opponent who gets whacked to the max by the fatty's tummy and wobbles...

using food as motivation is new lol...

4/5 stars... want more action...

The Iphone 3g...

to buy or not to buy.... is it worth the money now that it's only 199USD? coz my gf want's one. mum wants one too...

hope it comes soon... i hear from somewhere that the higher in demand, the faster it may come to spore... really hope so...

oh well all i can do now is just wait...

save up now and hope it's not too x when it hits our shores in St...

4 day work week in the US

As many have read in the Sunday Times, The US may move into a 4 day work week/ 4 day school week to save fuel costs. Looking at the figures, wow that's a lot... although to make up working hours will be extended and school hours maybe a little longer, but then again. its better the have another off day right?

Now, why aren't we implementing this here? Is it because we don't have natural resources? 5 day work week for so many workers here but still some people don't have it. Like me, i work 6 days a week. why can't this be lessened? This 6 day work week leads to over exhaustion and lethargy... taking care of other people too is not an easy job.

Besides, most of us, stay back after our working hours to finish up our work, which in turn takes more that 8 hours a day (including 1 hour break). So i really hope, Singapore can look into this and help those who aren't working 5 days a week. Even if the 4 day work week can't seem possible..

Upset at work

My apologies for not updating lately.

Work is a killer now a days.

I would like to bring up and issue i faced at work last night.

On my shift, none of them could speak mandarin and because my ward is like a super racial ward we got friends from Philippines, China, India and even locals, well none of them could converse in chinese languages (hokkein, cantonese, mandarin)

So my friend asked me to assist an elderly lady who was supposed to have her puffs. According to her, the reason why she cant do it is due to language barrier which i totally understand. But i saw her family by her side. Why not ask the family to assist her?

So i approached with a nice smile on my face (my usual approach to strangers) and asked if the elderly had taken her puffs. Her family was kinda dark. Why i say dark... It's because when i asked that question, their faces turned black, as if i've offended them with a simple question of mine. They shot back saying no and no one had come to assist her.

So i smiled wider explaining that we encourage them doing it themselves. They got even darker and shot back at me. Saying at her age, she needs to be assisted. I was taken aback. The lady sitting there does not look bedbound nor does she look very helpless. She looked very alert but tired. So i asked if the family knows how to use. They said they do but since the lady was admitted, we as health care personnel should do it for her... (gasp!) i was shocked to hear that. Is this true?

Does it mean when your loved one gets admitted for some reason, you as the family totally give up on caring for your loved ones? i didnt know what to say, but smile and assist her... As i helped her with the first of the 2 puffs, her family members gave so many comments and directions as if i was super wrong. no doubt the lady could not hold her breath or seal her lips against the puff. Then one of the guys went on to say that time when she got admitted on another level, the staff did it better. (sorry but at this time, i was rather peeved) No offence to anyone people, you got to be there to know how i felt. And that was only the first of the 2 puffs.

Sigh...

i'm very much saddened by this incident. All along my contact with anyone on my side, they are all friendly and will assist their loved ones when they can, by means of even helping to change diapers. it's that wonderful. Not realising that some people like totally DEPEND on us to help their loved ones.

A philippino friend told me, back in her country, the family is so supportive, so helpful the family is there by the bedside and help the nurses when they can. I'm not asking the relatives to be there 24/7, but the slightest help would do wonders for everyone. You help, you learn what's more that is YOUR loved one there... Please do not treat us like maids... I care about my patients i really do but to DEMAND from us to that far, will bring my heart to the lowest depths...

Forgive me for being open...

Here's a picture to cheer me up...

I laughed so much when i saw this...

Check it out...
