I seriously enjoy and look forward to the next one.
sadly i shoot only once a week and i just keep looking forward to the next one...
Along with my buddy and sometimes my gf, we come together and try to make wonders of our pictures. The poses, the lighting and that moment...
ah.....
cant wait...

ah... life....
Work covers most of the time in my life.
Currently, 6 days a week, 8 hours each day...
honestly, many people say my salary is freaking low and it's like i'm under paid
but when i look at it, i think the pay is something secondary...
With my work, i feel that satisfaction and gratitude is good enough..
The smile on their faces, the hand shakes and the thank you's all melt me away..
Ah, that priceless look when they thank you for all that you've done...
Really, it's priceless...
Then after work comes my passion, Photography...
I'm glad that i picked it up because it's something i can capture moments with. i just love human expressions, be it happy, sad or angry, it's all lovely on it's own. So i go with Portraits. Humans love to pose and smile, i love to capture that moment because, sometimes you will never get that same expression twice. So capturing that moment to me is very important.
I'm glad i have a handful of friends, even a close buddy who goes out with me to shoot. We do a different array of shots from portraits to landscape, to strobing (gonna start this soon)...
Greatest news is, my girl is in this too... She has an eye for good pictures... so i won't be surprised if one day she does better than i do... but yeah it's all the same, we all wanna catch that 'moment'...
Look forward to helping out in events, weddings, gatherings and such...
Got 1 event in November... a wedding of a friend's friend... hmmmm
Watch out for it....

Photography, now a shared passion
Ever since i picked up photography early this year, i have been stuck to it. Thou i admit it is a never dying, never ending hobby, it has become a passion for me.
What happened is i let my gf have my cam and i got a Rebel XTi, so now we can shoot together.
Ever since she held it the first time, she has been snapping away, bringing it around with her everywhere she goes. I guess i have poisoned her.
Thanks to the new close friends i have made over time, i managed to gather a few of them last saturday. A total of 10 of us were there to shoot and to share.
Venue: Changi Beach (aka Changi Broadwalk Point)
Theme: sunrise
Time: 0630am
Time of arrival: 7am haha.. this was a little expected due to some miscommunication and well my bus came late. So we rushed from Toa payoh to Changi.
Made new friends, Hakim (feek's friend)- came with a Nikon D70.
others who came were my gf, shan, feek, hung kiat, francis, ryan and our very own model, Ivan who got poisoned by the D200 haha...
Even our very own canon Rebel XTi user, shan also got poisoned...
i agree the shutter sounds much better than our plastic sounding canon cams. yes at times i too am confused which to stick to. Jump ship to Nikon or stick to Canon? But since i already have Canon, i decided to stick to it. Dun wanna waste too much money on this... Lens are a killer.
Thanks to all who came and i know we all had fun...

Felt so good.
Life has been tough lately but i know God has been kind. Work although busy and all, we have our moments of happiness and fun. I make it a point to enjoy work now. Realizing that getting upset and all that won't do anyone good. smiling and cheering up others DOES make a difference in anyone's lives. Really..
My 1 week of annual leave was good. Didn't travel overseas because im saving up for my degree next year. So i spent my time here in singapore. no, i didnt stay home all day, in fact i went out early in the morning. How much happier can it get when i can spend the first day with my girl. swim and badminton was fun (although she injured her thumb)- which of course has healed by now. I spent most of the rest of the week meeting up and catching up with old friends from army. i am indeed happy to have met them, also making new friends in this week too. I realized too that being happy and all does has it's advantages, it makes others happy too... WOW!...
Also took some this time to take a few more pictures with friends and all... And of course COMEX!~~~ bought me self a 1TB external hard disk drive and a lousy 2.5" screen protector which i totally screwed up. Also got my brother a printer the last day was TIGHT man... i tell you squeezing is like so normal on that day. As compared to day 1 i felt to claustrophobic. hmmm but luckily im kinda big sized so passing by others isn't so bad...
I wanna share bout today actually. As few of you know i sing in church and i have a small group of other church members who have wonderful voices... so i joined to learn and improve my own voice too. They are so fun to be with and helped me a lot by giving encouragement and supporting me in all i do. they even pray for me and my gf... which is so sweet... Thanks guys...! Welll today we met to learn how to sing various parts of a song titled 'Trust his heart' if you like you can check the video out in Youtube.com... nice song and singing in parts was so fun... enjoyed it so much today. Got them fortune cookies from Precious moments and a gift for Moses whose bdae was last Saturday...
So i hope the rest of the week goes well jus like the previous days.
Am glad my dear friend Hung and Francis bought their new DSLR Canon 450D... They seem to love it even thou they are still learning bout it... seek to improve oursleves and show what we like best to others....
hmmm cant wait hahah

busy busy busy...
Kinda crazy week due to the fact that it's audit week...
Strangely, people are more hyped up as compared to other times. They dress better, tie up their hair and even put on make up... Wow, the impress factor is there and well i'm just tired from the over loading of work i had to handle during my time... felt bad handing over some stuff to the next shift but i really had no time. (others see it as bad time management)
no one seems to understand.
I've been down with some weird flu also. After blowing my nose, i see different colors of mucus. from the normal white to yellow to green to light and dark brown. Asked my friendly doctor and he said its normal. hmmm... Been sniffing for over a week or two now... Bit worried about it...
Not much time to shoot anything thou. Lil sad but hey, lots of photo editing to do. So i can't keep shooting with out doing anything haha... Some friends of mine are like loan sharks, asking (dong xi zai na li?!, quai na chu lai!!) Where is it, bring it out!! haha...
Deepest apologies to those who are kept waiting...

Having fun with post processing
Lately, i have been playing around with the photos that i took, trying to manipulate them and trying to make them look better. (or worse, trust me i did make it worse.) In the process, i'm having fun actually. Such softwares are available everywhere from Photoshop to lightroom to aperature and more.
I use paint because i don't own any of the rest. Yup, have not been looking around for one and i guess most of them are quite pricey. So enough of words instead ill put in my works...
Please comment whether you like it or not ok?
thanks

Though they are not the very best, because i'm not that good in this post processing, if you have anything to help me improve, im all ears.
God bless

Singapore's very own...
A friend of mine asked me to join him in looking for his new hobby. I asked what he had in mind. He said 'RC'... Now what came into my head when i heard RC is most likely remote control. Then he said kite... I said what? He went on to say yes, kite, remote control kite.
Now ill be honest with all of you, i have never heard of a remote controlled kite ever in my life... this would be my first. So i said sure ( i needed to see this). We made our way to Clarke Quay MRT and walked to Riverside point. On the second floor, it all seemed very quiet. Everywhere was kinda dark, as it was dimly lit... Lookin left and right, nothing in sight, then i saw it... colours on the ceiling as if something was hanging up there in rows.
Ok, let's back track a little, when we talk about kites, first thing comes to my mind is plastic sheets tied with string unto a bamboo like stick and joined together then pulled by a string that can be very long to hit distance. Depends on the wind direction and all that. decorations are mostly up to the individual.
We saw this dimly lit shop like (more like a lil lounge) and went in to greet the people (sounds as if im trying to sell something) A guy in glasses greeted us back and asked if he could help me, i said not me, help him (my friend).
So my friend went on to ask about the price and to my astonishment, it was not cheap... No sireee... its above five hundred.. way above that.... cant say the price thou but you can roughly gauge yeah? Reason is that it comes with a transmitter and all that. hmmm i knew im not getting it at all... (well at least not now thou... its way off my budget)
After much talking done, the innovater came in and shared with us his experience, his thoughts. Very friendly and approachable people there i must say and they seem to swear by the after sales service.(i wonder if i can help them promote hehe) nways my friend decided to get a mid range one. after deciding to part with a lump sum of money... haha of which i cant reveal... But i must say this. It is the first in the world of its own... only in Singapore we have it but of course its spreading out to all parts of the world... beijing, japan and much more...
Is any one interested to find out more?
why not leave me a note or pm me... ill fill you in with more details (that's if ya interested)

Nurses Day Celebration
Today is the pre celebration of Nurses day.
Orginally, nurses's day is celebrated every year on the 1st of August.
But because the hospital is full of nurses, my work place decided to have it over two days, today and tonmorrow. Filled with lots of makan (food), entertainment, movies, interaction and laughter, i sure had fun today. I also participated in the talent quest and guess what? My friends and i got in 3rd place!!!!! yeah!!! (cheering~~)
Last year, we managed to get only consolation, but thanks to God and His great guidance, we got in top 3 and this means we gotta perform infront of the CEO tomorrow. Wow... more time to enjoy and show our talent! Today, 6 different groups from different levels came together to put their skills, talents and dance moves to the test, all for nurses to see and judges to judge. in the end, only 3 teams managed to go to the finals which is tomorrow to show even more nurses and the CEO one last time this year before we get serious for JCI...
I had fun, i really did, there was so much laughter, it really felt nice to be appreciated...
Looking forward to tomorrow...

The morning shoot at Sunset Way
It was very undecisive... we didnt know where to shoot... but finally after a while night of sms, my buddy decided to go back to Sunset way. It was his second but my first. what's more i think its nearer... i actually suggested changi airport to shoot planes haha... luckily we didnt go... that was really far.
Nways nice to sit on his bike again. i feel like getting a bike license so i can scoot around too... and you can squeeze pass cars n such. only thing we all fear is being hit by cars or bigger vehicles... but other than that i tink scooting around in a bike is kinda fun and costs less in terms of fuel and such...
Nways it was a lovely place i must say, hot day... thank God it didnt rain...
Will post some pics for all to see...
Will go back there one day... for the whole stretch...
Lots of things to see and discover...
Enjoy...
ps: will post soon

The recent Night shoot.
As time allows, i would every now and then go out for a short shooting with a friend, He like me also has a Rebel XT and we almost carry the same equip. 50mm and kit lens. He has a 135 manual and i have a 70-300... so we share.
Just opposite the Court House.
One of the pillars and the moon.
My friend trying to get a moon shot with the 70-300 as the world passes by.
That's all for now :P
I must say i'm very happy to have him as my shooting buddy because it all started with him being my SGT in army haha. Na, he was not those who like to punish, he was the calm and relaxing kind with lots of smiling. Then when i got my cam, i found out he had the same cam as i do now... so happy. We have gone to quite a number of shootings, The Kranji War memorial, sunrise at esplanade, evening at Hortpark and the night shoot at the padang. All of which have become to enjoyable and fun. Lots of memories and pictures to compare.
Sadly, he and i have different working schedules... so only when time permits and weather is fine, then we can meet. so i really treasure those moments, even if its just a few hours. He has naturally become my part time model too... haha (who says models have to be female only?) and i become his. even though im not tt model like... He has this great look and can really pose.
I always look forward to shooting with him coz we do enjoy this time improving and sharing comments and pictures too. He has wonderful ideas and we try them.. (the light pen and the spiderman in the tunnel was his idea) haha... he also has great timing. so he knows when the shutter closes and poses in time... that i need to learn from him...
nways ill show some pics just so ya know..
enjoy...
That's all for now :P

The Course... and RT
Whoopie!~~
Courses are fun (sleeping and relaxation)
And at the end of it, you make new friends and actually you also learn something new.
3 days ago, i went for a hazmat course. Sounds scary but it was well. Since i had previous experiences, it was just like memories...
I really miss those days ya know, a group of friends who stayed together, helped each other. Such a bond... i felt sad that it was over.
Nways, made new friends there, nurses and doctors... Learnt new stuff... what to do when it happens and how to protect yourself...
As they say, "If you can't save yourself, You cant save others.." i so agree with this statement.
but i was pretty sad it all had to come to an end. Sadly, all good things always come to an end. Sadly, just when we were starting to enjoy ourselves, we had to go back to our mundane lives...
Not been shooting much lately due to work and other commitments which im rather bummed bout. There is still so much more to shoot out there... I'm just hoping i find the places and all.. Then can plan shoots and such. Where are my models? (friends usually and of coz my lovely gf).
Today, was RT day... which mean i had to rush from work to camp for my RT. i feel that the 6pm slot is so much better than the 4pm slot. This is one complaint. i work morning shifts and usually i end at bout 4pm. RT starts at 4pm and i can only be half an hour late... which means i have to rush from novena to camp which is in yishun in half an hour. Very impossible! how can? And so i skipped one session because it was at 4pm...
I spoke to one of the PTI (physical training instructors) and he told me to go to the counter to arrange some special arrangement because i told him that i could not make it at 4pm.. when i reached the counter, the dude there said cant be changed... i was very upset because one says can, another says cant. Where is the flexibility... If this goes on, i would definitely have to skip it and in the end, ill get charged for no show... ill write an email to the management and hope some changes can occur to fit my working schedule... if not ill just not go... what is the point...?
Enough of complaints, i did make a few new friends. though i don't know their names, they are still very friendly and down to earth people. Lots of laughing and all during the training time... and the PTI was nice to us... So no complaints here except the schedule... which i hope can be changed... looking forward to the next... hoping i won't get charged...

happy to be out...
Thanks to some people, i am out of the work place for 3 days.
I think i need time off too... Getting very upset with myself coz i cant perform well...
Starting to dislike shift work too because it takes away my photography time and i don't get to sleep much at all... as little as 3 hours... dead man in the train after that im wide awake at night... like an owl...
Sleeping time is also all messed up... which makes me freaking upset and short tempered...
So anyways, im happy to be out of the working place.
Course is fun and relaxing.... can wake up slightly later and not rush like a mad man...
No need to answer to 2 very unreasonable people... who make our lives so painful to work.
cant say who but those who work in my work place will surely know who im talking about.
Now im thinking if i should move out of the shift work and try office hours... to be honest, sometimes its great, coz i end work at like 230 (supposedly) but then i end like 4...
So time after that is used for shooting or with my loved ones.
Ill keep praying for job opportunities...

oh well all i can do now is just wait...
save up now and hope it's not too x when it hits our shores in St...

4 day work week in the US
As many have read in the Sunday Times, The US may move into a 4 day work week/ 4 day school week to save fuel costs. Looking at the figures, wow that's a lot... although to make up working hours will be extended and school hours maybe a little longer, but then again. its better the have another off day right?
Now, why aren't we implementing this here? Is it because we don't have natural resources? 5 day work week for so many workers here but still some people don't have it. Like me, i work 6 days a week. why can't this be lessened? This 6 day work week leads to over exhaustion and lethargy... taking care of other people too is not an easy job.
Besides, most of us, stay back after our working hours to finish up our work, which in turn takes more that 8 hours a day (including 1 hour break). So i really hope, Singapore can look into this and help those who aren't working 5 days a week. Even if the 4 day work week can't seem possible..

Upset at work
My apologies for not updating lately.

Work is a killer now a days.
I would like to bring up and issue i faced at work last night.
On my shift, none of them could speak mandarin and because my ward is like a super racial ward we got friends from Philippines, China, India and even locals, well none of them could converse in chinese languages (hokkein, cantonese, mandarin)
So my friend asked me to assist an elderly lady who was supposed to have her puffs. According to her, the reason why she cant do it is due to language barrier which i totally understand. But i saw her family by her side. Why not ask the family to assist her?
So i approached with a nice smile on my face (my usual approach to strangers) and asked if the elderly had taken her puffs. Her family was kinda dark. Why i say dark... It's because when i asked that question, their faces turned black, as if i've offended them with a simple question of mine. They shot back saying no and no one had come to assist her.
So i smiled wider explaining that we encourage them doing it themselves. They got even darker and shot back at me. Saying at her age, she needs to be assisted. I was taken aback. The lady sitting there does not look bedbound nor does she look very helpless. She looked very alert but tired. So i asked if the family knows how to use. They said they do but since the lady was admitted, we as health care personnel should do it for her... (gasp!) i was shocked to hear that. Is this true?
Does it mean when your loved one gets admitted for some reason, you as the family totally give up on caring for your loved ones? i didnt know what to say, but smile and assist her... As i helped her with the first of the 2 puffs, her family members gave so many comments and directions as if i was super wrong. no doubt the lady could not hold her breath or seal her lips against the puff. Then one of the guys went on to say that time when she got admitted on another level, the staff did it better. (sorry but at this time, i was rather peeved) No offence to anyone people, you got to be there to know how i felt. And that was only the first of the 2 puffs.
Sigh...
i'm very much saddened by this incident. All along my contact with anyone on my side, they are all friendly and will assist their loved ones when they can, by means of even helping to change diapers. it's that wonderful. Not realising that some people like totally DEPEND on us to help their loved ones.
A philippino friend told me, back in her country, the family is so supportive, so helpful the family is there by the bedside and help the nurses when they can. I'm not asking the relatives to be there 24/7, but the slightest help would do wonders for everyone. You help, you learn what's more that is YOUR loved one there... Please do not treat us like maids... I care about my patients i really do but to DEMAND from us to that far, will bring my heart to the lowest depths...
Forgive me for being open...
Here's a picture to cheer me up...
I laughed so much when i saw this...

RK house
After a long day's work, i totally destroyed myself today at work.. so many things to do yet time is so little... got to learn to priortize once more.
nways went to Serangoon Gardens to meet my girl for dinner at the same time meet the youths.
waited....
then finally came. there was this malay store inside RK eating house which i think was called Capuk capuk...
nways i had this very nice dish called the ayam penyet...
damage of 5.50 singapore dollars
but well worth it.
comes with Rice, soup, an egg and the chicken piece boneless.
pictures as proof...

The nightmare turned a blessing
As many might not know, besides photography, i have a day job. (ok, let's not call it a day job because, i do not work only during the day) i work 3 shifts... am, pm and night...
Yes, yes, i'm in the health industry, and caring is one of my strong points. i care about people and especially those who are sick. I become their middleman, speaking for them when they are weak and have no strength.
So back to the nightmare...
I came to work, seeing quite a no of staff, so i thought well, okay... let it be no issue right? After all, work is like that, we see friends and such. Then when i walked it, on my team had only 1 SAN and myself... I was shocked because my side is quite heavy... turnings, changing and RT feeds are like a paradise here... So much so that we can specialise in this field. Standard routine, receive report, check my friends and then do my work. No today had to have MC. and i don't blame the person on mc.. she is after all pregnant and she does not take MC at all, so im guessing she must be really sick.
Next thing i knew, we had to do 2 teams... that's another 6 more friends! No no, don;t get me wrong, i love to make new friends and all but, after a day off, i come back having to take 18 friends!?! that's a bit off ain't it.... No back up, no nothing... Just 3 of us: KNS, pimple face and myself... no offense to anyone coz i dun like to reveal names... So, at the beginning of my shift, i was already moodless to work. What's more, more work to do...
Forgive me if i yatter away and bitch like a lil girl, but sometimes its just the way i go thru life, how i complain and such yeah? hope you all understand.
Blessings came in, a friend who is in charge helped me quite a fair bit. in fact, a LOT! haha thank God for her... helping me to organize stuff and also sharing some work loads. So thanks to her, i managed to write my reports and such.
I also prayed during dinner, which i usually took an hour, i took bout 40 mins... i said, Lord please help me go thru this smoothly... please lighten my work load... and Amen He answered my prayer...! after dinner, it was much easier to work and finish my work...
Passing report was a breeze....
So i wanna thank God for helping me lighten my work load... i thank Him for also giving me the opportunity to observe the difficulities in life and how to understand people better and that includes understanding myself too...
Here is attached a picture i took to show how God has blessed me...

People, why do you get arrogant? then become nice?
I went for a lil shopping spree yesterday with my girl and i wanted to go to this particular shop. First, the guy wasn't there. outside his shop had this smallest cute paper that said the big words ...TOILET... so we stood outside for quite a while... bout 10 mintues or so, then a guy in grey came out and opened his door. wonderful shop with so many interesting stuff in it. so we looked around.
The first customer we heard and saw buy like a bulk of items.. Wow her bill came up to 300 plus and she just whipped out a stack of $50 bills. Then she left.
The second guy asked some questions and to me usually service is important ya know.. pleasing ya customers to a certain extent is important (to me) at least i would... The dude seemed kinda pissed off to serve the customer. askin for the cheapest item on the display box, then pondering as we all do wondering if it's the best... then the customer said this which i tink was a lil too much but he wasn't shy... he went "is there a cheaper one but good still?" i was like WTF!!!! and i guess the guy who was on the other side of the counter was a lil shocked and pissed.... but i guess he is kinda used to such statements. nways the guy ended up buying 2 items... asking loads of questions...
Then came my turn, i introduced myself as before i came to the shop they had left a number to sms. but i found out that the one serving me is not him... its ok so i asked regarding the item they recommended. He took it out and showed it to me, but as it had only one use, i decided not to purchase it. i wanted a all rounder one. The display showed so many items so interesting each having its own color and style.. Wow.... i told the guy and my girl that i would come back for more haha.... so my girl picked out one that she liked and i bought another different kind...
Damage? $81..... yes... to me honestly its not much about the price.. ya wanna pick up good start correctly.. and the price i can afford of course (i felt it was not too x) so before i left i asked his name. he was kinda shocked but only at that time, he warmed up to m e and shook my hand.. i said thanks and he smiled.. told him ill come back soon and said good day (my usual sentence to end it happily)
Is there a reason people put up a strong front so as to avoid showing their weaker side or their normal self? im curious... aren't you?

Special thanks to a friend
I would like to take this time to give a shout out and a great thanks to a friend who i speak to. ill call him Z. I spoke to him last night over a cuppa drink and he kinda knocked some sense into my head. as we've been friends for over 10 plus years its only recently i believe we got closer. i started sharing more stuff with him and even some secrets too. He has kept them well and i feel safe that he keeps them. (ya not sharing are you?)
Anyways, last night he spoke to me about savings. As most of the closer friends who know me, i admit yes, i am an impulsive shopper. i have bought stuff that i left lying around many a times which includes a keyboard which i bought very recently. (it's not expensive, but it's hard earned money still).
So he told me if i continued to do this spending and no saving, it's gonna be very hard for me in the years to come. yup that's right, i got no savings... sucks i know but there are many a times that i go to withdraw money only to find it all disappeared. I'm guessing i spend a lot without knowing how much had already gone. i believe many other people have this same situation too. but thanks to him, i woke up and i decided to put aside some cash (i have been doing this all along but in the end i used that money. So what i did was i passed the cash to someone i trust. asked that friend to save for me. or at least keep it for safe keeping. how much didnt matter as long as it was something every month. So i pray and hope this can and will go on as the months pass by. I will put more when it comes to bonuses and any other extra cash on hand.
Not forgetting the 'what about now' piggy bank. aka the dollar a day project.
I really hope this pulls through and i can donate this to some one or somewhere who needs it more than i. although 1 buck a day may not seem much to anyone, i believe its a good start. anyone would like to join me in this move? hmmm
ill be praying for your support
and also be praying for you my dear friend, Z
this is a lil something for you...
PS: hope you like it la. i just love photography so they come as gifts haha...
What about now...?
Lookin at Chris Daughtry's song, What about now when i saw Idol gives back this year, made me wonder. what about now, what have we done for those who need anything more than we all do? what have we done for the less fortunate, the needy. Many a times we tend to be selfish and live our own ways. We spend for ourselves getting the most expensive stuff, the most branded stuff... when we can use that amount of $ to help others. To make a difference in their lives.
So instead of idol gives back, im gonna open a piggy bank.
im gonna put in $1 dollar everyday....
and this $ will go to the needy.
At this point of time i duno who to give or where to go. Any suggestions pls let me know.
i would love to give it to someone or people who really need it...
i will also pray for those who are in need. those who need it more than i. those who could not live to see another day... you are all in my prayers...
So what are you gonna do for those who need it more than you?
What about now?
what about today...?
Start now....
